We are thrilled to report that our stallion Ballzauber won the Bundeschampionat Qualifier at Badendorf in Germany on July 15th 2009 with the exceptional score of 8.7. Ballzauber is in training with German international event rider Alexa Bendtfeld and is stationed for the breeding season at Gestüt Majenfelderhof with Stephanie Herken-Wendt, who also takes expert care of him. We are especially happy about today's great success since one of the judges was German National Team Coach Hans Melzer and the field of young eventers was of very high quality. The first 4 placed horses all managed to stay above 8.0m the qualifying score, and several international riders took the opportunity to present their upcoming youngsters. We would like to thank the team around our stallion, which has done a wonderful job balancing his demanding breeding season and his first competition year as an eventer.
And Ballzauber's offspring continue to impress judges in Germany as well. His 2009 daughter Cindy's Zauber out of the Trakehner mare Cinderella X by Germanicus Rex - Windwurf xx received premium scores at her inspection. Her For her type, upper body, walk, canter and overall impression she received straight 8s. For her trot, she even scored a 9, and with a 7.5 foundation score that gave her an overall score of 56.5! Congratulations to the breeders, Georg Pleister from Melle and Ballzauber's breeder Vera Feist from Egert in Germany!! |

Darren and Ballzauber at the Gala Show at Neunmunster Nov, 2008 |
Ballzauber, under his German name "Ballzauber", had his first public appearance under saddle on Feb 10th 2007 at the biggest stallion show in Germany, the Münster-Handorf show with more than 60 stallions presented. And we are excited to announce that according to all official comments, including those from the head of the Trakehner Verband in Germany, and the internet community in Europe, our stallion stole the show!!! Here are some exclusive photos we thankfully received from German professionals Jutta Bauernschmitt and Peter Richterich.
Recent comments from Hengst market sales catalogue, "Ballzauber has now become one of the most interesting young sires, also due to his qualities under saddle. Following in his sires footsteps, this young athletic tallent demonstrates ideal impulsion and wonderful movement. His pedigree is a reliable recipe for dressage potential, combining in close succession the sires Axis, Kapriolaf, and Giorgio Armani, all of them Dressage horses to the highest level, with one of the most proven performance dam lines, the line of Bergfriede." |
Ballzauber, approved in Neumünster 2006
The Team Chiacchia is thrilled to announce the acquisition of a new young star for the lineup of eventers and breeding stallions! Approved and subsequent auctioned of the German Trakehner Verband in Neumünster, Germany, Darren was able to buy the black 2.5 year old approved stallion Ballzauber.
"Ballzauber has so much of the best German performance blood in him and his overall athleticism, his exceptional jump and his high quality movement. "The stallion is a beautiful package of a modern sporthorse with tremendous potential, both in physique as well as genetics, for the upper levels in eventing.
Ballzauber was bred by German Vera Feist and is a son of the black Axis, an accomplished FEI dressage stallion, but with strong foundations in show jumping. At his approval, Axis was named "Best Jumper" of his entire crop in Neumünster, which comes as little surprise given the fact that he is a son of the top sire EH Sixtus, a half brother to Darren's long term partner WINDFALL.
On the dam side, the brown/black, 16.1h stallion carries the same exceptional jumper blood that already makes Darren's super 5 year old DYNAMIK II a star in the field: EH Itaxerxes. The dam side further carries Marlon (the full brother to the century sire MAHAGONI) and the top jumper sire VIRGIL. The dam line of O18B1 BLITZLICHT (Baumgart-Verden) also stands for the top 5 year old dressage stallion and Champion at Devon, Baron Verdi, as well as the approved Blinker, Blizzard. In addition, the advanced level show jumpers Intermezzo, Lord Lester, and Blitzdame come from very close maternal relation.
The greater mare family goes back to the famous Bea-family of the Trakehner breed, one of the few that produced performance horses in dressage and show jumping to advanced levels. The most prominent member of this family is certainly the late elite stallion BANDITENTRAUM.
